Account Deletion

This page explains how to request deletion of your Book My Chair account, what information we delete, what we are required to keep, and how long it takes. To submit a request, sign in and use the form at the bottom of this page.

1. How to request deletion

You can ask us to delete your Book My Chair account at any time. Open this page, sign in to your account using the form at the bottom, and submit a deletion request. You can also start this from the app under Account → Profile, or on the web at bookmychair.com.au.

You must be signed in to submit a request — this is how we confirm the request is genuinely from the account holder. Once submitted, our team reviews and processes the request.

2. What gets deleted

When your request is processed, we permanently remove the personal information that identifies you, and you will no longer be able to sign in. This includes:

  • Your login and the ability to access the account.
  • Your name, phone number, email address, date of birth, profile photo and saved service address.
  • Your saved favourites, reviews, loyalty rewards and points balance, notifications and messages.
  • Your saved payment methods (these are removed from our payment processor, Stripe).

3. What we keep, and why

Some records cannot be deleted immediately because we are legally required to retain them. Where this applies, we keep the records in an anonymised form — disconnected from your identity — and delete them once the retention period ends. This includes:

  • Booking and transaction history, retained in anonymised form to meet Australian tax, accounting and consumer-law record-keeping obligations (generally up to 7 years).
  • Payment and refund records held by our payment processor, as required by financial regulations.
  • Records we are required to keep to handle disputes, prevent fraud, or comply with a legal request.

4. How long it takes

We aim to action deletion requests within 30 days. Most are processed sooner. If we need more information to verify your request, we will contact you at the email address on your account.

If you have upcoming bookings, they will be cancelled as part of the deletion. If you own a business listed on Book My Chair, you must transfer or close that business before the account can be deleted — contact us and we will help.

5. Questions or changed your mind
